The Filipina Social Worker

My name is Carla (she/her/siya) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working as a medical social worker and psychotherapist. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and my Bachelor's degree from California State University Long Beach with a major in Women's Studies and a minor in Philosophy. I worked in schools, community mental health agencies and hospitals, and am fluent in Tagalog. My counseling style is compassionate and empowering. As a first generation Filipina/Malaysian therapist, I want to look at all the systems in place that impact your emotional health and well-being. I firmly believe in starting where the client is and that you are the captain of your own ship. I am just here to help guide the way.
